Get ready to Love Northampton

Get ready to feel the love. A brand new website is launching tomorrow (Tuesday 14 February) to showcase all the great things Northampton has to offer, all in one place.
This is an exciting time for Northampton, with some amazing regeneration projects coming forward and the bonus of the Northampton Waterside enterprise zone.
In the tough economic climate that is affecting the whole country, we need people to know about what Northampton has to offer so that businesses looking to invest see the town as an attractive prospect. is the new, joint website where people can find out about Northampton’s heritage, culture, sports, theatre, events, shops, music, leisure and learning.
Instead of all the agencies and organisations doing their own thing, we’ve come together – business, sport, public and private – to make sure people know that there’s a lot going on in Northampton.
The website is also a platform for local businesses to make offers and reach out to people, giving them reasons to come and spend time here and ensuring they won’t miss a thing.
Already involved in LoveNorthampton are Northampton Borough Council, Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership, Northampton Town Centre BID, Northamptonshire County Council, Northamptonshire Saints, Royal & Derngate, Northampton Town Football Club, Northants County Cricket Club, Northampton Leisure Trust -  and many businesses and individuals.  Valentine’s Day is just the start, and will grow and develop as more and more businesses and organisations come on board.
The partners behind LoveNorthampton can already reach out to almost 100,000 people and tell them what’s going on in the town and we hope that number will grow and grow.
Councillor David Mackintosh, Leader of Northampton Borough Council, said: "Now, more than ever, we need people to know what is good about Northampton. We have to punch our weight and can’t afford to be overlooked for investment and business, by shoppers and visitors or potential students, or graduates looking for a start.
"We are home to big, international business, we’re a university town, we have world class music and theatre every day of the year, fantastic sporting teams, and amazing heritage - we need to do much more to shout about it. I’m proud of the fact we have all come together to make this work and kick our future off to a great start.”
The website is launched with 14 offers from local businesses, and the chance to win tickets for the Saints v Wasps by following the Twitter feed @LoveNorthampton.
Richard Clinton, Director of the Northampton Town Centre BID, said: "LoveNorthampton helps us fly the flag for the town. Telling people about our vibrant arts scene and great mix of shops and restaurants is an important part of ensuring the town’s economic prosperity.  We think everyone should know about some of the amazing things going on in Northampton and as business people, we’re loving this new way to tell people about it.” will also contain all the information on the big ticket’s of 2012, the town’s  special Olympic and Jubilee events, the summertime Safari trail and the blossoms of Britain in Bloom – it makes sense for all the information of what’s good and what’s on to be in one place.
Rob Purdie, Executive Director, Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership, said: "Northampton is a great town within a fantastic county and Love Northampton showcases the many highlights, helping to create a real sense of place for those in the town.
"The initiative is a strong example of partnership working, with many businesses and other organisations coming together to collaboratively to raise the profile of the town.
"By encouraging everyone to get behind it, we can help to create an even better future for Northampton, encouraging people to explore the range of new and exciting things on offer in the town and driving more visitors to the area to the benefit of all residents and businesses.
So log on, and share the love.
